hungry for a home-made craft...?

With all these tests and papers... a home made craft, outside of my design major, sounds really appealing! My spring break is coming soon and I have already decided a list of "crafts to do". I think art is a very stress relieving and a therapeutic outlet for me- AS long as it has no deadlines. =) So among my numerous creative desires, I have decided to paint, sew, collage, print, scrap, frame, and shoot! I cant wait!

As some of you might know, I love to write letters and exchange thoughts through the mail. I love the feeling of taking a stuffed envelope out of the mail box, and the anticipation of what the envelope contains as I walk back inside. (If it get's that far) It's so exciting for me to read what others have written for me and then to exchange that back to them. Right now I think I have 3 fairly steady pen pals, in which we exchange letters/cards/packages. But I think that a lot of my enjoyment of pen pals is in my obsession for stationary and office supplies! (which I share with my MOther! whom is obsessed with PENS...Dont ever trust her with your writing utensil- She will in deed steal it and never return it!!) But, I really enjoy personalizing. Here are a few I like and who knows..Maybe I'll have time during my break to make. =)

Happy Birthday Cinderella

Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do, they'll still be there.
Amy Li

Jitz,
I will always cherish our friendship. Ever since I was 2, you have been my best friend and favorite person to be with, my little sis. I can remember the countless memories of when we were younger... playing house and transforming the office into our "house". Dressing, feeding, and changing our Babies. Or when we would dress up and you would be the hot chick singer and I would be the stud guy-without a shirt! (or you would be the old grandma) :o) You have always been my favorite play mate. You would always be Cinderella! I can remember playing Barbie's with you for HOURS- and when bedtime would role around and we wouldn't want to stop, so we'd put everything on hold and keep it set up until the next day. It was always fun to share a bedroom with you-sometimes I really miss that. Talking all night about stuff- OR climbing on the bunk bed and secretly playing during bedtime. And Of course I can't forget our teenage years and all the fights, haha, mostly about the stupidest things ever- Like "That's my shirt!" I still think you don't know how hard you punch sometimes. (p/s: these fights still continue, and hopefully now that YOU are an ADULT you will realize this and put an end to them! ;o)lol) Experiencing Chicago and Mexico Missions-from the cockroach races to singing with you at the chetumal church. The memories are countless! These last few years I have gotten to see you change into a young woman, sometimes it's hard for me to not want to baby-sister you and protect you. I forget how much you have grown and how independent you have become. You are such a beautiful young woman of God- and I'm so excited to see what he has in store for you next! I can't wait to go through these next steps in life with you! I love you so much and will always, no matter what, be here for you-as a sister and friend. I can't wait until we will be able to play house, but for REal! I love you babe. HAPPY 18th Birthday!
